In Demand Skills

COVID-19 has impacted everything from the way we work to the skills we look for in potential employees. From spending our time going from one online meeting to another, moving our work events online and managing our workflow, one thing has become abundantly clear: things will not go back to the past routines even when the COVID-19 crisis is behind us. For example, global brands such as Microsoft have taken a stand to make its ‘work from home’ policy permanent for some staff members and Coca-Cola has made changes to its ‘work from home’ policy, which gives an option to its employees of who can choose to work from home permanently.

What used to be considered the ‘future of work’ has already arrived, with COVID-19 accelerating automation. Automation will disrupt 85 million jobs globally by 2025, in medium and large businesses across 15 industries and 26 economies as new data by the World Economic Forum suggests. The report also found that more than 80% of business executives are accelerating plans to digitize work processes and deploy new technologies – 43% of businesses are set to reduce their workforce due to technology integration.

Shift has happened and it is still happening. Despite the economic fallout of the pandemic and its impact on human resources around the world, demands for certain jobs in the UAE have seen an uptick according to LinkedIn.

“The COVID-19 pandemic has disrupted the way businesses operate and how people work, but it has also opened up opportunities in a number of sectors as businesses continue to adapt to the pandemic,” said Ali Matar, head of LinkedIn MENA and emerging markets in Europe and Africa.“2021 will undoubtedly be a year of continued change, but companies will also continue to look for new ways to improve services, create fresh business opportunities and strengthen their talent pools, taking advantage of a greater diversity of skills and talent in the job market.”

The top key skills categories driving the UAE job market are:

E-commerce, Digital marketing specialists, Business development and Technology.

According to LinkedIn’s findings, with online usage increasing, companies moved to capitalize on it, with a growth of 71% hired into digital marketing roles in 2020. In addition, the UAE witnessed a 61% growth of technology hires in 2020.

As far as operating within a digital domain, we know a thing or two. We also know that while it is crucial to upskill your workforce, there may not be the time or resources to do so.

Outsourcing in demand skills is a smart business strategy with a multitude of benefits. The goal is to boost hiring performance, especially in key areas: efficiency, consistency, risk, expertise, time and money. Addressing these areas should positively impact productivity and profitability and generate steady ROI.

We believe Digital Transformation is not just a technology shift, it’s a generational mindset shift of how companies grow, engage and manage their relationships with their customers, employees and larger world in the experience economy – we are able to align with your organization’s values and long-term goals and build digital capability and sustainability. This transformation means integrating digital technology into all areas of a business to fundamentally change how companies operate and deliver value to customers. While this might be a scary vision for some, it is one of the strongest drivers of change: companies need to adapt their business models to remain in business.

As a Strategic Digital Transformation Consultancy, we will assess where you are, understand where you want to be, and create the roadmap for how to get there. Data has become the most coveted new natural resource, and whomever can successfully capture and gather insights from it, and then feed that harnessed data into their product development, customer engagement and marketing strategies in a way that creates amazing experiences – generates brand love… and wins.

Digital Transformation is not just an IT or marketing initiative, but a commercial strategy and the first step of any organization to truly embrace and leverage new technologies along with changing consumer behaviors to grow existing business and expand into new products, services and skills – increasing revenue and reducing cost.

With a consolidated service that covers all the new-age skills and shifts, you will win at cutting down on overheads and salaries – the two major money sucks. In this economy, you are looking for efficiency – what’s more efficient than getting everything done from one source? You tell us.

The assessment gives us the foundation to improve you or your organizations access to existing and emerging markets, make a name for itself, change perceptions and win new business. It will also establish the core identity that will guide and protect the corporation for many years to come, improve its human resources, and create the systems, skills and processes that will let it continue or begin to function as a cohesive unit. This also gives your organization the ‘feel’ it desires, and the ability to act energetically and proactively. Planning and codifying internal communication procedures as soon as possible will also help ensure an organization’s employees are informed, happy, able to meet the challenges of the outside world and ultimately be more productive – creating genuine and organic external communications.
